  • “I came down on Saturday and dropped off (2) 19lb batches of deer meat to have a batch of Summer Sausage and Landjager sticks made up. I took the opportunity to pick up (4) bacon wrapped filets and (2) Ribeye steaks. To be frank (pardon the pun) the beef looked to have more fat marbling in it than I was used to seeing from the butcher we have been using in St. Peters, MO. These steaks and filets were some of the best tasting, and tender meats my wife and I have had in a LONG time. Everyone was super considerate, and I am looking forward to bringing my wife down when I come and pick up my processed deer. I have no doubt there are going to be some more filets and steaks being added to the total bill! Thank you again. “

  • “This is a fun place to visit, an old style butcher shop. Plus their offerings are top-notch – great selection, great quality. But be prepared to wait – it’s almost always shoulder-to-shoulder. But people are nice, both customers and staff, and the free beer mentioned in a previous review is true. If you want to avoid the crowd and get in and get out quick, be there right when it opens.”

  • “As a mostly German local, it’s good to see a little bit of German heritage flourishing in St. Louis. I mean, really, we all love sausage, right? (If your a vegan, you’re probably not reading reviews for this place, am I right?) This is as good as it gets, based on both our first purchase, which included three varieties, and our first attempt to purchase, when there were about 40 people crammed into this very small room; if people are waiting that long in a crowded room on a hot summer day to buy some sausages , you know it’s got to be good. I didn’t wait. Oh well. If you even think you’re a sausage lover, you need to get over here and give this place a try.”

With that said, although I’m a veggie, I still have to feed my friends and family and that’s where this place comes in handy. Everyone always raves about ANYTHING I buy from here and it’s super awesome to have a free Busch beer and some shots with other patrons, young and old alike, while waiting in line on a Saturday morning. Great place and fun atmosphere, definitely worth a visit!”

I’ve spent the last few years looking for really good Weisswurst, and while I can get a variation at the international markets around the St. Louis area, G&W has what I’m looking for. My husband loves the Landjager sticks and we just recently bought their Groupon. Talk about YUM! The poor gift basket didn’t last the weekend. 

It’s worth the drive and worth the wait for the sausages they have here. I plan to go back soon to take a look at their other items for sale. For now, G&W has a fan for life.”

My father in law told me about your landjager and although it sounded strange I figured it was worth a try. Your entire team has blown me away! Not only were they friendly and helpful at check in. they processed my deer in under a week. I received the call last night stating my deer was ready for pickup. I came in this morning & as I pulled out of the parking lot I couldn’t wait to try the product. I had a Landjager in my mouth before I hit Kingshighway…. I will bring every deer I ever have processed to G&W from now on! The flavor is unmatched! I have had thousands of different types of snack-stick/jerky, to include my own recipe, and NOTHING has ever came close to the flavor you pack in yours!
